Charles Hurst Belfast Vauxhall

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:30, Friday 08:00-17:00 and Saturdays (on rota) 09:00-13:00

Salary: £30,000 per annum plus bonus!

At Charles Hurst Belfast Vauxhall we are looking for a hard-working and talented individual to join us as an Assistant Service Manager.

Reporting directly to our Service Manager, Colin, you will play a crucial role in supporting Colin in delivering exceptional customer service and maximizing revenue opportunities. You will assist in overseeing the aftersales operations, managing a team, and ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the department. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of one of Belfast's leading automotive dealerships.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Service Manager in the day-to-day operations of the aftersales department, including service, parts, and customer relations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to achieve departmental targets and objectives.

  • Collaborate with the Service Manager to drive revenue growth and profitability through effective upselling and customer retention strategies.

  • Supervise and motivate a team of aftersales staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality service delivery.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when necessary to optimize departmental performance.

  • Assist in managing the workshop schedule, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and timely completion of service and repair tasks.

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing their concerns and resolving any issues in a professional and timely manner.

  • Monitor and improve the aftersales processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Assist in managing inventory levels and parts ordering to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.

Qualifications

You will be someone who has excellent leadership and communication skills and can demonstrate a successful blend of confidence and assertiveness when dealing with people. You will have a warm personality, be empathetic and friendly, and have an approachable and professional manner.  

Experience working in a similar role in the automotive industry with the ability to deal with a variety of responsibilities is essential, along with strong organisation skills and an eye for detail. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who loves working as part of a friendly team, and is truly focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience with the ability to turn any challenging situations into positive experiences. You must have a full and valid UK driving licence.
